Water Quality Monitoring

ICP-MS is one of the most critical technologies for ensuring water and food safety from harmful contaminants. Especially, detection of illegal dumping activity and contamination of open waters by real-time monitoring of harmful trace compounds and metals is an application with major demand from China, India, and Other Asia Pacific countries. But current bench-top ICP-MS systems are not suitable for this purpose due to long analysis turnaround, high cost of ownership, high gas and power consumption, large footprint, and complicated workflow. Furthermore these systems require advanced infrastructure that is only available in developed countries, namely:

  • Access to stable argon supplies (~ 20 L/min), not available in many countries;

  • High power requirements (2 kW), not typically supported by common electrical infrastructure;

  • High cooling requirements requiring chillers, glycol lines, exhaust lines, etc.

  • Access to lab bench and lab infrastructure.

A transportable ICP-3Q-MS with easy work-flow and low operating cost is the right technology for this purpose.
